William Rabatin,Christy Reeves Obituary – Allegheny County police reported that a man and a woman were discovered deceased inside a residence in Scott Township early Monday morning. Later on, the suspect was found deceased in West Virginia. The victims were found around 2:50 a.m. at a residence on the 1300 block of Great Oak Drive.

According to the medical examiner’s office, Christy Reeves, 50, and William Rabatin, 53, were pronounced dead at the scene due to gunshot wounds. In a statement, the police mentioned, “Detectives concluded that the shooting was related to domestic issues and identified the suspect as 50-year-old Dennis Rahuba.” They added, “Around 7:00 a.m., deputies from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office spotted Rahuba’s vehicle heading southbound along Interstate 77 in Charleston, West Virginia. Rahuba was found deceased inside the vehicle shortly after.”

Rahuba’s son informed Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that his father, Dennis Rehuba, and mother, Cristy Reeves, were in a long-term relationship.

“We discovered that the female victim and the male suspect were in a long-term relationship. That relationship was ending, and the female victim and the male victim began a new relationship,” stated Allegheny County police Lt. Venerando Costa. Costa explained that Rahuba went to the residence where Rabatin resided, entered through an unlocked back door, and proceeded to shoot and kill both Rabatin and Reeves.

“Through investigative methods, detectives were able to obtain his phone number and location. A female detective, who is also a negotiator for our department, contacted him and engaged in a conversation over the phone,” Costa mentioned. Rahuba had traveled nearly 170 miles south on I-79 when he was stopped by local sheriff’s deputies in Kanawha County, West Virginia. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputies heard a gunshot. Chief Deputy Joe Crawford stated that they then retreated, closed down the north and south lanes of I-79, and requested SWAT officers to communicate with Rahuba. They later found him deceased inside the vehicle.
