Edgar Rodriguez Obituary, Death; – The deceased individual discovered in a wrecked vehicle on the South Side, with a gunshot injury, has now been identified. Law enforcement authorities have confirmed the victim’s identity as Edgar Rodriguez-Leal, a 34-year-old male. They have determined that his cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

At approximately 3:10 a.m. on April 7, the police received a report of a robbery at the intersection of Sunbend Falls and Sunview Bay. While responding to this incident, the authorities received another call regarding an ongoing shooting just minutes away, at the intersection of Cantrell Drive and Nock Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene of the shooting, the police discovered a crashed vehicle that matched the description of the one reported stolen at Sunbend Falls. Inside the vehicle, Rodriguez-Leal was found in the driver’s seat, having sustained a gunshot wound.

Tragically, Rodriguez-Leal was pronounced dead at the location. According to a witness, Rodriguez-Leal was being pursued by three individuals when a gunshot was heard. During the investigation, a shell casing potentially linked to the shooting was discovered several blocks away on West Hutchins St. As of now, no suspects have been apprehended, and the incident remains under active investigation.
