Ensel Maclare-Urgelles Obituary, Man shot, killed by Austin police during stabbing incident identified
Ensel Maclare-Urgelles Obituary – Ensel Maclare-Urgelles, aged 48, was fatally shot by Austin police officers on May 27 in response to a stabbing incident at a North Austin apartment complex. Despite life-saving efforts by Austin-Travis County EMS medics, Maclare-Urgelles passed away shortly after the incident.
Police were alerted to the situation at 12501 Tech Ridge Blvd., located within the San Paloma Apartments, following reports of a disturbance shortly after 1:30 a.m. Interim Police Chief Robin Henderson stated during a news briefing that the initial call reported a loud argument between neighbors, resulting in broken glass and objects being thrown.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers witnessed Maclare-Urgelles attacking a woman within the apartment complex. In response, the police intervened by shooting Maclare-Urgelles and safely removing the female victim from the premises.
The woman suffered severe injuries, as confirmed by the authorities. In a recent news release, the police department disclosed that the victim’s condition has since stabilized, although her identity remains undisclosed.
