Gregory Bernard Dykes Obituary, Man found dead in Sherbondy Hill apartment complex Monday night
Gregory Bernard Dykes Obituary – The body discovered on Monday night inside a Sherbondy Hill apartment complex has been identified as Gregory Bernard Dykes, a 37-year-old Akron man who was fatally shot in the head.
A statement from Gary Guenther of the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office mentioned that authorities are currently looking into the incident that resulted in Dykes’ death. Following a 911 call reporting a shooting, Akron police arrived at the apartment complex on Everton Drive around 10 p.m. Dykes was found on the eighth floor of the building in the hallway and was declared deceased at the scene at 10:31 p.m., as stated by Guenther.
Detectives suspect that an altercation occurred between Dykes and the perpetrator prior to the shooting. The police are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident and are in the process of identifying and locating a person of interest.
The investigation remains ongoing.
