Jarron Champman Obituary, Police arrest suspect in shooting of man outside Waterbury court

Jarron Champman Obituary – A suspect was apprehended by the police on Wednesday about the shooting incident that occurred last month outside Waterbury Superior Court. The authorities have identified the alleged shooter as 29-year-old Dante Howell from Meriden. After obtaining an arrest warrant, Howell was taken into custody in Middlefield.

The charges against Howell include murder, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and first-degree reckless endangerment, among others. He is accused of shooting 26-year-old Jarron Champman as Champman was leaving the court premises located at 400 Grand Street on March 21. Unfortunately, Champman succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital.

Howell was held on a $5 million bond and was scheduled to make a court appearance on Thursday. In connection with Howell’s arrest, both Waterbury police and state police were present along Route 66 in Middlefield. The exact relationship between Howell and Champman remains unclear.
