John Lewis Wardrup Obituary, Man 39, discovered unresponsive in his cell

John Lewis Wardrup Obituary – Inmate John Lewis Wardrup, aged 39, was discovered unresponsive in his cell at El Dorado Correctional Facility on March 25. Despite the efforts of staff and EMS personnel, they were unable to revive him. The exact cause of his death remains unknown, but an independent autopsy is currently underway. Additionally, the Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter.

Wardrup was incarcerated for violating the conditions of his post-release supervision, as well as an 18-month sentence for charges related to the violation of the Kansas Offender Registration Act in Sedgwick County. In 2009, he had previously served an 88-month sentence for forgery and attempted rape charges, for which he was convicted.
